Can I schedule a consult with a tattoo artist?
Yes! We would be happy to book a free consult so that you can sit down with the artist and make sure you are on the same page about your design, and to make sure you vibe with your artist.
Can I see my drawing in advance?
Short answer is, unfortunately, No! Our artists have a long queue of drawings that they prepare in the order that their clients are scheduled. There will be time on the day of your appointment to make minor adjustments to your design, if needed. Learn more about our drawing policy here.
Why do I need to pay a deposit to book my appointment?
Deposits are required to secure an appointment as a means of protecting our artists’ schedules. Clients that are serious about getting a tattoo are willing to pay a deposit to secure their appointment. Learn more about our deposit policy here.
How much will it cost?
To put it simply... it depends! Each of our artists has their own hourly rate, ranging from $100/hr apprentice rates and $125-$175/hr for our more experienced artists, plus our flat-rate $20 bio fee, plus GST. You can ask your artist for an estimated time for your tattoo - just remember that it is only an estimate! And if you are happy with your tattoo and the service received, there is always the option to tip your artist.
Can I get a cover-up on an old tattoo? Do I need laser?
Of course, this is going to depend on the tattoo that you want covered up. When making your inquiry, please send photos of your tattoo so we can get a general idea. Then, we will want to schedule a free consult with the artist so they can see it close up. The artist will be able to look at the tattoo and come up with some solutions, and advise whether or not they think you need laser treatment.
Do you take walk-ins?
Certainly! Walk-Ins always welcome, subject to artist availability. We would encourage you to send a message or give us a call in advance.
For Tattoos:
Weekends are prime time for walk-ins; the artists take turns blocking off their schedules so that at least one artist is available for walk-ins all weekend.
Keep an eye on our social media, follow your favourite artists, and give us a call or message in advance to have the most up-to-date information!
For Piercings:
You can see our piercing schedule here. We are really good at sticking to this schedule, but life can get hectic, so always feel free to call or write us in advance!
Keep an eye on our social media for any variations from week to week! And on days when we are open to 7pm, let us know if you think you will arrive after 6pm. Often, if there is nobody in the shop at 6pm, we might just pack up and go home...
Will you tattoo my girlfriend/boyfriend
partner/lover’s name across my chest?
m... Maybe?
We have to tell you: there is a big superstition in the tattoo industry that it is bad luck to tattoo a significant other’s name on your body... over the years, tattoo artists have had to cover up many an ex-lovers name. If you're sure about this tattoo, be prepared to answer questions like: ‘Are you sure?’ ‘Are you sure you’re sure?’ and ‘No really... are you SURE??’
Also consider asking your tattoo artist about fun couples' tattoo ideas that don’t involve specific names... think Salt and Pepper shakers, Peanut Butter and Jam, or Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Can I get a hand or face tattoo?
They call these “Job Stoppers” for a reason! A reputable artist will be hesitant to do hand or face tattoos on someone unless they are already heavily tattooed.
